Dash to Defeat Dementia - Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2016 Dash to Defeat Dementia in support of Alzheimer's Research.

This year's event will take place on Sunday August 21st, 2016 at beautiful Bruce's Mill conservation area in Stouffville. Volunteers will be assigned to various tasks including Course Marshalls, Face Painting, Silent Auction, Raffle Ticket Sales, Bag Check and Registrations. You will be assigned your support area when you arrive.

All volunteers must be onsite no later than 7:00am on August 21st to receive your orientation. Students will receive a certificate for hours worked at the end of your shift. We are requesting that you bring your cell phone so you can be contacted on the course. We also recommend that you bring a can of bug spray to combat any mosquitos along the trail route.

When you arrive please identify yourself as a volunteer at the front gate. You should then follow the path to the Chalet where you will see a group of people setting up the event. Please ask for Gail or Kimberly when you arrive.

Alzheimer's is a terminal disease of the brain. It erases memory, steals the ability to think, and makes simple daily tasks, such as eating and getting dressed, impossible. It robs independence and eventually takes life.

Your participation in this event will directly benefit Alzheimer's research and local programs.

To register to volunteer, please provide your contact information at Volunteer Registration.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you on Race Day!
